Established in 2018, A2Z Tutoring is an in-home education company based in Sydney. We specialise in matching students with tutors to provide exceptional 1-on-1 private tutoring services.

Focused on primary and high school students, with a particular emphasis on helping HSC students achieve incredible results, we have heard it all. From the struggling student who has fallen behind in class to the high achieving student who wants to stay ahead, every student’s story has its challenges.

It all began when I was in Year 12. After finding myself struggling with mathematics, I was shocked to find the lack of flexibility, group classes and cost associated with private tuition. I spent several years working for these private tutoring companies and with the dissonance between profitability and student results growing, A2Z Tutoring was born.

Fast forward a few years and we have cemented ourselves as a leading provider of education services. Our incredible team of tutors simplify the sometimes confusing and overwhelming school experience by customising lesson plans to bring the best out of every student. How does in-home tutoring work?

After discussing your child’s personality and needs, we match you with one of our incredible tutors. Instead of sitting in an office, our tutors come to you and students can learn in an envrionment they are comfortable in. There is no time wasted sitting in traffic or the hassle of trying to find a car park.

Are lessons with a group or 1-to-1?

All of our lessons are 1-to-1 and tailor-made to the needs of your child. At A2Z Tutoring, we don’t believe that group classes allow for the lesson to be fully customised to each child or are flexible enough to ensure that your child’s needs are fully met.

How often should my child have a lesson?

The frequency of lessons will ultimately depend on their learning needs and their current ability. We do recommend students attend tutoring on a weekly basis to ensure they can consistently develop their knowledge.

How will I know we have been assigned a quality tutor?

All of our tutors are top achievers with 90+ ATARs and are subject matter experts who received Band 6 results in the subjects that they teach. This places them in the top 5% of graduates in their year. We receive hundreds of applications for every A2Z Tutor position and require applicants to go through a rigorous selection process. Our tutors are vetted, trained and continuously reviewed to ensure they consistently provide the best possible quality of teach that is right for your child.

How does online tutoring work? Will I need to buy special equipment?

No, you don’t need any special software for your A2Z Tutoring sessions. For our online classes, you just need a laptop, computer or tablet with an internet connection, audio and camera. We provide everything else you need to participate. Our lessons are always interactive, taught live through our zoom portal and customised to suit your child’s needs.

Can I try a few lessons to make sure the tutor is a good fit?

Absolutely. We know that making sure you’ve picked the right tutor for your child is incredibly important. The needs of each and every child are different which is why we hand select tutors based on the personality and education requirements of your child. We don’t believe in lock-in contracts or having to pay for an entire term upfront, which gives you the flexibility to ensure that you have the perfect tutor.

Will lessons be personalised for my child?

Yes. Although the NESA Syllabus is standardised for all schools in NSW, we know that every child has different skill levels and knowledge. This is why our tutors continuously assess and evaluate your child to ensure lessons are tailor-made to suit their needs.

Will I be able to check on my child’s progress?

We are confident that your child’s progress will be evident in their results. Nonetheless, following every lesson our tutors provide an overview of everything that has been covered.

How will you know where to start my child?

Instead of asking new students to complete a formal assessment that is often stressful and upsetting for your child, we get straight to tutoring. We are always in touch with parents and use the information you provide us as an initial guide to structure lessons. As lessons progress, your tutor will continually assess where your child is at in relation to the syllabus and personalise their learning plan and lessons specifically to suit their needs.

What days and hours can I schedule tutoring for?

You can schedule lessons anytime between 9am and 10pm, Monday to Sunday, depending on the tutor’s current availability.

Will lessons align with my child’s school?

Yes. Our tutors devise lesson plans in conjunction with the NESA syllabus. As a result, all content that is covered in lessons are relevant to your child’s school program.

Are there lock-in contracts for the whole term?

No. Unlike other tutoring companies, we do not require parents to sign contracts and pay for a whole term of tuition upfront, before they’ve even met their tutor. We know that our amazing team of tutors have helped students achieve great results and are confident that they will help your child achieve incredible results as well. Our results speak for themselves. That’s why you pay as you go and can leave any time.
